Taking the plunge. Continuing my career in Turks and Caicos

Many of you have never worked with me before so you’re probably wondering what the heck I do. I’m an integrative health and fitness coach, extensively trained with 20 years of experience helping people to become more fit and feel better. When working together, my goal is to get you dialed in to what’s really going to make a sustained difference. I’ll help you cut through the crap, and you’ll learn more about your body than ever. Whether it’s reducing stress and anxiety, getting in better physical shape, stopping that unexplained stomach pain, or whatever; you can trust that I’ll take your mission seriously.

My coaching / training methods

Assessments are an important part of my arsenal I use to help guide us in the proper direction. Your assessment results along with your goals lead us down the right path. The assessments vary from questionnaires to lab testing to heart-rate variability testing. In my 20-year career I’ve never seen two people alike, and the assessments help uncover areas to consider addressing. Some possible areas to address are the following foundational principles of health: performance and corrective exercise, sleep, eating behavior and food choices, thought patterns, and breathing patterns.

Am I the right trainer for you?

I really don’t know, and if you think maybe, let’s set a time to discuss that possibility here in T&C. It’s free so there’s nothing to lose. That being said, the answer is probably “yes” if you:

  • Are interested in an overall approach to improving your health and fitness.

  • Need tweaking to your current wellness program.

  • Want someone who will first conduct an assessment before prescribing a path.

  • Need someone to keep you accountable.

  • Prefer someone who can gently introduce you to positive changes (even positive changes can be stressful).

  • Would like someone who can address the cognitive as well as the physical aspects of fitness.

My transition to the Turks and Caicos Islands

I decided to grow my hair longer than ever and embrace my hippy side. I soon discovered that kale and quinoa really are the greatest things on the planet. Nah just kidding. I can barely stand the stuff! But, the adventure does continue. After a year and a half of travel, I settled in the Turks and Caicos Islands in March of last year. After months of renovating a home for short-term rental, it was finally ready for guests. What a challenging and learning process!

Fast forward to February of this year and I finally receive my work permit. Great! Now I can legally work on the island as an integrated health and fitness coach. Then March arrives, along with the corona virus, and I’m relegated to working remotely. OK, no problem. So after spending a lot of time learning what I can about this virus and overloading on news updates, I’ve pulled myself into the now and accepted the reality of this strange and unusual time the globe is facing. It’s time to move forward, and that leads me to my offer to you.

So is it time to address some self-deferred maintenance? If you’re ready for a reset, and not quite sure how to begin, touch base with me and let’s discuss possibilities. Becoming healthier is not only better for you; it’s better for your family and your community.

Feel free to leave any questions or comments below. Be well :)
